Privacy Policy
Last updated June 28, 2026
This policy explains how Shalom Technologies collects, uses, and protects your information — including location data — across our website, mobile app, wearable devices, and monitoring service.
01Introduction
Shalom Technologies (“Shalom”, “we”, “us”) provides a family safety service built in Nassau, The Bahamas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Because Shalom helps families keep one another safe, location data is central to how the Service works. We treat it with care, and we never sell it.
02Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Account information — name, email, phone number, and the family circle you set up.
- Location data — real-time and historical location from the app and wearable devices, used to power live location, safe zones, and SOS.
- Device and wearable data — device identifiers, battery level, connectivity, and similar diagnostics.
- Usage and log data — how you interact with the app, along with basic technical logs that keep the Service secure and reliable.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or enquiries.
- Payment information — handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.
03How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide core features such as live location, safe zones, location history, and SOS.
- Deliver alerts and enable our monitoring team to respond.
- Maintain the security, reliability, and performance of the Service.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Improve and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations.
04Location data
Location is the heart of the Service, so we want to be clear about it. We collect location to show family members where their loved ones are, to trigger safe-zone alerts, and to send accurate information when an SOS is raised.
Location is shared within your family circle and, where applicable, with our monitoring team — not with advertisers. You control who is in your circle and can adjust or stop sharing in the app.
05Children’s information
Shalom is used by families, including to protect children. Accounts are created and managed by adults (parents or legal guardians) who consent on behalf of the minors in their care. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts, and we collect a child’s information only as part of a family circle set up by a responsible adult.
06How we share information
We share information only where needed to run the Service:
- Within your family circle — with the members you choose to share location with.
- Service providers — trusted partners that help us host data, send messages and push notifications, and process payments, under appropriate confidentiality terms.
- Emergency response — relevant responders or contacts when an SOS or genuine safety threat requires it.
- Legal compliance — authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with continued protection of your data.
07What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information or location data, and we do not show third-party advertising in the Service.
08Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Location history is retained according to your settings, and we delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed or upon a valid request, subject to legal requirements.
09Security
We use technical and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond quickly if an issue arises.
10Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access and update your account information.
- Manage who is in your family circle and control location sharing.
- Request a copy or deletion of your personal information.
- Close your account at any time.
11Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses essential cookies to function and may use limited analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
12Data storage and transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside The Bahamas. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected to a comparable standard.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you through the app or by email.
14Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please reach out through our Contact page and we’ll be happy to help.
